Pinellas Democrats July Monthly Newsletter

A Message From Our Chair

Dear Pinellas Democrats,

As we bid farewell to an eventful Pride month, I cannot help but feel immense joy in our community’s success. Our participation in the Pride parade and festival was extraordinary, displaying unity and support for our LGBTQ+ community. I extend our sincere gratitude to the volunteers and participants who made this year’s St. Pete Pride so memorable. Scroll below for some pictures from the months events!

Another highlight this month was our participation in Leadership Blue hosted by the Florida Democratic Party in Miami Beach. The camaraderie and inspiration from this event strengthened our commitment to our values. It gave all who attended an extra jolt of enthusiasm and renewed commitment. Check out thetraining repository here, and be sure to watch the fun wrap up video.

Now on to our newest initiative, the Pinellas Dems Precinct Power Project, which aims to build strong foundations at the grassroots level. We will be assisting members in engaging with voters in their precincts to build lasting change. Read on in the newsletter to learn more and how you can get involved!

As we touch on events and outreach, I’d like to reiterate that with the extreme Florida heat, we should take extra care of yourselves and each other. Stay hydrated and save your outside events for the evenings, especially when reaching out to neighbors’ doors. Moreover, COVID-19 along with RSV remain a concern. Yours truly caught a case of COVID-19 last week, so please stay cautious, maybe get the updated bivalent booster if you haven’t already. For the time being, please consider wearing masks during our meetings to prioritize everyone’s safety. We will provide a separate entry and seating for masked attendees at the back of the meeting room. There is an entrance to the meeting room hall directly from the parking lot, where attendees who would like to remain cautious can enter the meeting room, and remain distanced. We also always have our virtual meeting option.

In closing, let us remember that progress is achieved step by step. Each action we take, no matter how small, contributes to our shared goal of building a stronger and more equitable society. As we move forward, let us continue to be the champions of positive change and exemplify the Democratic values we hold dear. Please enjoy reading through our comprehensive monthly newsletter, it is filled with the latest in local and state Democratic politics, initiatives, and community engagement.

Thank you all for your support and dedication to the Democratic Party. Together, we can make a difference.

In solidarity,

Jennifer Griffith

Chair, Pinellas County Democratic Party
