A Message From Our Chair
Dear Pinellas County Democrats,
As we step into June, we commemorate Pride and Juneteenth, two significant occasions intersecting our paths. I am honored to acknowledge these events this month, share their history, as well as provide updates on recent developments within the Pinellas County Democratic Party.
I’d like to a moment to give special thanks to our Pinellas Dems Pride team who have organized various activities throughout the month to celebrate and support our LGBTQ+ community. On June 2nd we took an evening to recognize State Senator Daryl Rouson, State Representative Michele Rayner-Goolsby, and State Representative Lindsay Cross at our successful Welcome Home event. Over one hundred Pinellas Democrats came out to show their support for these dedicated leaders who served our community tirelessly during the 2023 Florida Legislative Session. Thank you to all who helped make the event such a success, to all our guests of honor, and to you for making your strong support known. It was felt by all who attended, and we look forward to more events in 2023.
On a somber note, our heartfelt condolences go to State Representative Michele Rayner-Goolsby on the loss of her beloved mother, Harriet E. Singletary Rayner. We send all our comfort and strength to Representative Rayner-Goolsby and her family.
Looking ahead, we have a summer of connection and action planned. The Pinellas County Democratic Party is committed to creating an environment where every member can engage, contribute, and make a difference. Stay connected and join us in shaping a better future through our upcoming events, workshops, and voter outreach initiatives.
In closing, let’s embrace the spirit of Pride and Juneteenth, celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and the pursuit of justice. Our party stands united in our commitment to equality, liberty, and progress. Together, we can create lasting change, building a society that reflects our cherished values.
